Trends for 2020
It has been being talked about and implemented across 2019 to a certain degree, but we will undoubtedly hear and see more about plant-based menus through 2020. On the high street vegan restaurants are on the rise, and although vegan and plant-based diets are not exactly the same, nowhere will there be no option for those wanting to avoid meat and dairy. The difference is subtle but significant as the choice of food labelling is shifting towards plant-based. The desire for the flavours however, still exists as chefs’ work cleverly to produce those meat and dairy tastes from plant-based food alternatives such as almonds, peas and soya. This certainly isn’t a fad and will only be expanding as we see some of the biggest food and drink companies introducing these ranges in to our supermarkets.
