Daniel Clifford’s landmark restaurant on the banks of the river Cam has once again featured in LA LISTE’s 1,000 best restaurants in the world, and in the top 10 of the UK’S best restaurants.
Now in its fourth year, LA LISTE is a truly global culinary guide, ranking the world’s best restaurants based on the compilation of 600 guides, critics’ reviews and over 56 million online reviews of over 16,000 restaurants in more than 180 countries.
Each restaurant’s score is calculated by an algorithm which gives a rating between 0 and 100, based on the available online and printed reviews from over 600 sources, from Michelin to the New York Times. Midsummer House was awarded a 2020 rating of 92.00 out of 100.00, improving on 2019’s rating of 89.00.
Clifford said, “In the end, it all comes down to what our many guests and diners think. They are the judges that really matter and this award is a testament to that, which means a great deal to us all at Midsummer House.”
Over the past 20 years, Midsummer House has become one of the country’s most acclaimed destination restaurants, combining outstanding seasonal ingredients and Michelin-starred cooking in a relaxing and elegant dining room. Housed in a beautiful Victorian villa, in the middle of Midsummer Common on the banks of the River Cam, Cambridge, diners travel far and wide to experience lunch and the infamous eight-course tasting menu.
Midsummer House was awarded its first Michelin star in 2002, followed by a second in 2005 and also proudly holds five AA rosettes.
