Amazing venues for afternoon tea in London
Afternoon tea is the ultimate indulgence, and it doesn’t get much better than the way it’s served in London! Us event caterers can’t resist a cheeky scone and a cold glass of Champagne, and we know you can’t either, so we’ve put together a list of the top five places in London to check out if you want a fabulous afternoon tea session.
1. K West Hotel (Shepherd’s Bush)
Afternoon tea has been given a glam rock makeover at K West. Guests can try some quirky tea infused cocktails and enjoy a menu which pays tribute to our musical heritage in a playful, fun and stylish way. The tea and treats are served on vintage record covers with bright blue and pretty pink teapots and teacups. The snacks available range from candyfloss and meat sliders to the traditional ‘rolling scones’ with clotted cream and strawberry jam. YUM!
2.One Aldwych Hotel (Covent Garden)
From decadent golden eggs to blueberry brioche and playful flavoured candyfloss, every item reflects the wit and wonder of Roald Dahl’s classic tale, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The talented team at the hotel has created a scrumdiddlyumptious menu using the finest, freshest ingredients. Teatime treats are served alongside a selection of award-winning loose leaf teas and infusions, each of which has been chosen to complement the delicate flavours from the kitchen. You can also try out all the scrumptious treats with ice cold Champagne and a signature Charlie cocktail.
3. The Oxo Tower (South Bank)
The OXO Tower Brasserie has launched a fabulously indulgent ‘Not Afternoon Tea’ menu, served on the famous OXO terrace. Beautifully presented, the ‘Not Afternoon Tea’ menu features a range of four dessert plates each paired with a matching cocktail.
4. Sketch (Mayfair)
here is something different about afternoon tea at Sketch in Mayfair. The attention to detail on the crockery alone is worth a visit. The room itself is a haven for lovers of the colour pink too! It’s a stunning environment and the menu is equally deserving of our attention. You can choose to add either a glass of rosé Champagne or a cocktail!
5. Podium (Park Lane)
If you like chocolate then this is the one for you. The amazing ‘Confessions of a Chocoholic Afternoon Tea’ is where chocolate and art blend together. You will be offered a tiered stand presented with freshly baked chocolate chip scones served with a chocolate praline spread, cupcakes and miniature chocolate fancies displayed on an edible chocolate plate.
