Make Me: Sloe and Gin

We are all wishing we had been prepared 15 months ago to make our very own Sloe Gin and it would have been ready to go by now.

It’s simple:

Pick about 1lb of sloes
Prick them with a needle and put in to a sterilised jar
Pour in 225g of sugar and 1 litre of gin
Store in a cool place for three months turning weekly
Strain out the sloes and leave for a year

Believe me it is worth the wait and if you can wait two years – it is even richer and tastier!
