Eat Me: Raw Food

9 January 2017

It’s the time of year when we all think about is our waistline and remember the temptations of the iced gingerbread, mince pies and chocolate tubs of December. Here is our guide on where to eat RAW best! Raw food or ‘live food’ dishes are made from produce – usually but not always unprocessed, organic and vegan – cooked at a temperature below 48C (warmer than body temperature, but still not even half way between frozen and boiling water).

Wild Food Café – www.wildfoodcafe.com

A Neal’s Yard oasis. Their Instagram account alone will make you a raw food convert.

Saf, Old Street – www.safrestaurant.co.uk

Described as the top dog when the explosion of raw food first started out.

Vitao, Oxford Street – www.vitao.co.uk

One of the first pioneers this is certainly worth a visit.

The Bonnington Café, Vauxhall – www.timeout.com/london/restaurants/bonnington-cafe

The chef behind gourmet raw delivery service Raw Fairies. This is a real community café.

Mildreds – www.mildreds.co.uk

Famed from Soho, Camden and Kings Cross, this restaurant is somewhat of a mecca for vegans and vegetarians alike. Their raw food menu is plentiful.
